wild hing

wild hing is the dried sap of a mountain shrub that is essential to many south indian dishes. bloom in oil at the beginning of cooking (a little goes a long way!) and you'll get a deep, savory, allium flavor that makes for a great alternative to garlic and onions. hing is usually blended with flour to prevent caking, but this blend uses turmeric to make a grain- and gluten- free wild hing!
